Painters & Decorators — Ascot, Berkshire
Ascot High Street to North Ascot. Victorian terraces, Edwardian detached homes, and everything in between. We work in SL5 regularly. Roman quotes and manages every job himself.
Ascot, Berkshire — SL5
Most of SL5's housing stock is Victorian and Edwardian. The terraces along South Ascot and the larger detached houses in North Ascot have high ceilings, original cornicing, picture rails, sash windows, and in many cases original plasterwork. These properties need more preparation time than a modern build — and they show up the difference between a decorator who prepares properly and one who doesn't.
We work in Ascot as part of our regular schedule. Roman Pelykh visits every job personally, fixes the price in writing before anything starts, and runs it himself from first day to sign-off. No subcontractors. No dispatching to a team you've never met.
Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, and Dulux Trade supplied as standard. Exterior work backed by a 12-month workmanship warranty.

All work carried out by our own team. No subcontracting. Each service below covers what it means specifically for Ascot properties.
Walls, ceilings, woodwork, joinery. Victorian and Edwardian interiors in Ascot often have ceilings of three metres or more and wide hallways that need longer dry times and more coats for even coverage. We factor this into every quote. Farrow & Ball and Little Greene as standard on SL5 residential jobs.
View interior painting service →Masonry, render, timber, and metal. Ascot period properties have original masonry and timber sash windows that need proper preparation before any paint goes on. We use masonry primer on render and stabilising solution on chalky surfaces. 12-month workmanship warranty on all exterior jobs.
View exterior painting service →Farrow & Ball papers, silks, metallics, and hand-prints. Hallways in Victorian Ascot houses have high drops — pattern-matched papers need careful planning before anything is opened. We measure and set out before any paper goes up. No guessing on the day.
View wallpapering service →Cabinet doors, built-in furniture, architectural details. Refurbished and period properties in Ascot often have fitted joinery worth preserving — spraying gives a factory-smooth finish that brushwork can't match. Full masking and surface protection before any spray work begins.

Every competitor page for Ascot says “quality finish, free quote, period property specialists.” None explain what Victorian and Edwardian properties in SL5 actually need — or what goes wrong when a decorator skips the details.
Victorian and Edwardian houses in Ascot commonly have original timber sash windows. Painting them properly means masking every glazing bar individually before brush work begins. Decorators who don't bother end up with paint on the glass, pulled seals, and windows that won't slide properly.
We mask every bar. It takes longer. It's in the quote.
Period properties in Ascot often have deep original cornicing — some of it irreplaceable. Painting around it with a brush and a steady hand is not good enough. It needs proper masking before any brush or roller goes near it. Damage to original plasterwork in a period property is expensive and sometimes impossible to repair like-for-like.
We mask it properly. That's the job.
Ceilings of three metres or more are standard in the larger Victorian and Edwardian properties across North and South Ascot. Surface temperature at ceiling level is different from floor level — it affects drying times between coats. Roller poles on high ceilings leave uneven application that shows in raking light. Proper staging is needed.
We carry our own access equipment and factor it into the price and programme.
Deep F&B colours — Hague Blue, Railings, Down Pipe — need a tinted primer underneath or you need a third coat to reach full coverage. Most decorators quote for two coats and add the third on-site as an extra. We check the colour specification at the quote stage and price the job for what it actually needs.
We also advise on finish: estate emulsion vs estate eggshell vs modern emulsion. The right choice depends on the room and how it's used.
